Monica Khanna, Seema Garg

Abstract

Drug abuse is one of the most common problems faced in the world today. Drugs are abused in different forms all over the world with new methods of abusing drugs being invented every day. Recently, it was found out that the addicts in London use the fumes of the plastic drums as abuse by burning them. The commonly seen sources of abuse in the daily life are nail polish removers, correction fluid, tobacco, smack, charas, ganja, heroin, opium, besides the volatile organic compounds which are used in the paints and varnishes. The abuse of the drug just starts with the “experiments” and finishes with the end of the life of the youth who has started this experiment. It is not the just one life that is ruined but the multiple lives which are ruined with the abuse. It includes the lives of father, mother, brother, sister, wife, children, etc. The lack of education, financial condition, the wrongful society of the friends, girlfriends and poverty are some of the common causes which contribute toward this menace.
