The Attitude of Fathers and Mothers towards Girl Child in Selected Parents of Children

Abstract


Aim: The aim of this study was to assess the attitude of fathers and mothers towards girl child among selected parents of children. Design: descriptive non-experimental research design. Method: The study was conducted in the paediatric wards among 60 parents (30 father and 30 mothers). Non-probability convenient sampling technique was used to select the samples. Subjects were given attitude scale to collect the data. Results: Among 30 fathers 56.67% has positive attitude and 43.33% has negative attitude. Among 30 mothers 60% has positive attitude and 40% has negative attitude. Comparison of attitude score of fathers and mothers shows that mothers (60%) has more positive attitude towards girl child than fathers (56.67%) There is association between selected demographic variable and attitude of fathers and mothers.
