Design and Fabrication of a Small-scale Battery Operated CNC Router Cutting Machine

Abstract


Paper focuses on the fabrication and design of small scale battery operated CNC router cutting
machine which has ability of 3-axis simultaneous interpolated operation. The purpose of this work is
to design portable, battery operated, low cost machine which is done by integrating the properties of
a standard PC interface with ATMEGA 328 micro controller based CNC system in an Arduino. The
system also promotes an offline G-Code parser and then interpreted on the micro-controller from a
USB. The objective of this work is to develop a model of CNC machine for small scale industry and
for educational purposes. Precision stepper motors, lead screws, linear bearings are used to increase
a precision in results which will be obtained.
