A Novel Method for Power Conditioning Control with Mitigation of Voltage Sag using FACTS Devices

Neha Raj, Dr. R. D. Nirala, Sooraj Kumar Chourasia

Abstract

One of the most accessible energy sources is electrical energy. It is easily converted into other forms of energy. The dependence on electrical energy has grown significantly as a result of technological innovation. Banks, post offices, computer and telecommunication networks, and networks for railroads are just a few applications that just cannot run without power. These applications also need for high-quality energy. The most prevalent issue is a sag or dip in voltage. There are multiple strategies to resolving this problem. One amongst them is the use of FACTS devices, which is impactful. An overview of the role played by FACTS devices such the DVR, D-STATCOM, and auto-transformer in reducing voltage sag is provided in this project. Each of the devices listed above has been researched and assessed. Additionally, this project presents the control methods for these devices. The recommended control schemes are designed to simulate in the MATLAB SIMULINK environment, and the findings are presented. A comparison study is also shown in this paper.
