Configuring HTTP and DNS Server in Cisco Packet Tracer

Anjali Wasankar, Sushil Bakhtar

Abstract

Setting up the server that will host the website requires the process of configuring HTTP. In order to do this, the server must be configured to use the correct domain name, the port number must be specified so that the server can listen for HTTP requests, and the IP address must be specified so that the server can respond to HTTP requests. The Cisco Packet Tracer network simulation software's HTTP and DNS server settings is covered in this article.. The configuration process is detailed step-by-step, covering the necessary commands and configurations required to properly set up both servers. The paper also includes a brief overview of HTTP and DNS protocols and their importance in network communication. The configurations presented in this paper can be used as a reference for network administrators and students who are learning how to configure servers in a network environment. In the paper's conclusion, the advantages and restrictions of utilizing Cisco Packet Tracer for network simulations are discussed.
