INFLUENCE OF DIFFERENT ISOLATORS ON THE PERFORMANCE OF RAILWAY BRIDGES

Abdul Rahman, R.S. Londhe

Abstract

The functioning and safety of cable-stayed railway bridges play a major role in the reliability of rail transportation networks. This study looks at how various isolators impact the performance of cable-stayed railway bridges, with a focus on how well they may lower dynamic forces, increase structural stability, and address specific problems that arise with cable-stayed structures. Investigated is the effect of different isolator types on the dynamic response and seismic resilience of these complex bridge systems, including elastomeric bearings, sliding bearings, and base isolators. The study assesses how well these isolators reduce vibrations and improve the overall performance of cable-stayed railway bridges using analytical methods and numerical simulations. The results provide important information for bridge design and refurbishment plans
