“A Brief Study on Cytotoxic Effects of Crude Drug in Cancer Induced Cell”

Amit Kumar Dutta

Abstract

Cancer is the second leading cause of mortality worldwide. Therefore, cancer is serious problem affecting the health of all human societies. Cancer occurs by a series of successive mutations in genes so that these mutations change cell functions. Cancer is also related to epigenetics. Epigenetics is typically defined as “Heritable changes in gene expression that are not caused by changes in the DNA sequence”. A disruption of epigenetic processes can cause changes in genetic function and malignant cell transformations. The Research shows in this about the difference between the cancer cells and normal cells. Also addresses two breast cancer cell lines MCF-7 & MDA-MB-231 and the result of MTT assay to evaluate the cytotoxic effects of epigenetic drug UNC-1999 on MCF-7 with MDA-MB-231 in different concentration.
