Abstract

Structural Analysis is a branch from civil engineering which involves mainly in the search of behaviour of structures in different circumstances, so in order to predict the future result of different structural segment due to effect of loads in real future life. Every structure will be put under to either one or the groups of loads, the various kinds of loads normally considered are live loads, dead load, wind load and earthquake load. ETABS (Extended Three Dimensional Analysis of Building System) is one of software which is related with static, dynamic, linear and nonlinear loadings etc. and mainly this same software is used to analyse and design the structure. Our BE project “Analysis and Design of Residential building using ETABS software” is an attempt to analyse and design a residential building using ETABS software. A G+7 storey building is considered for our project study. Study analysis done is by static method and design is done as per IS code 456:2000 standard guidelines. We attempted to make design the structural parts by ourself manually. Drawing and main detailing of structural line plan is done using Auto CAD software.
